I am married to the love of my life, Lynette. We have three children: Abbi, Eli & LilyGrace. We live in Farmington, MO, where I have recently branched out into an office space for Hallock Family Ministries and the HFM Conservatory. We are in a season of transition as we have relocated to help and support Lynette’s parents with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis for her mom.
The last three years have been a struggle and a blessing. We have experienced a loss of home, loss of friends, family medical issues and some of the greatest spiritual growth in the midst of it all. We have truly learned how important family is and how much we can take them for granted. I truly cherish my time with my family and wish I had more time to spend with them. Every moment spent with family is something to never take for granted.
I also love spending time in God’s Word. Learning more about Jesus and how to apply the truths which He taught and lived to my life. I look forward to the many new things which the Lord still has for me to learn.
Oh, I almost forgot I had to get a job at Starbucks one time simply to help fill my wife’s addiction to that wonderfully smelling brew. Seriously, working at Starbucks was a great experience for me (and my wife and kids).
Through the last several years I have come to realize that I am truly a worship leader at heart. My passion is to engage with the Living, Holy and Righteous God and usher the saints before His throne. While I enjoy directing choir and orchestra and I love engaging more directly with the congregation and other worship leaders. Having served as a Worship/Music Pastor for well over 20 years, I have learned a lot from personal experience and learning from experiences of others. I am convinced that music, drama, art, dance are all tools that can be used to help God’s children express themselves in worship. Hallock Family Ministries has been an outlet that we have utilized to serve local churches by joining them in worship leadership and providing opportunities to equip and train their teams. I pray that He will allow me to serve Him as long as I am here on this earth.
Here are a couple of books that I found very helpful in my spiritual walk. Obviously, the Bible goes without saying. The first little book is “The Practice of the Presence of God” by Brother Lawrence. The other book is “Worship on Earth as it is in Heaven” by Rory Noland. If you enjoy reading or would to be challenged as a worship leader and/or believer I challenge you to pick up these books and give them a read. They are easy to read but help you to really think about the reasons why we do some things and the attitudes we do them with.
One of the words of wisdom that I cherish most comes from one of my former pastors/teacher… it simply states: “Be fully engrossed with God’s Word and be ready at all times. You never know when a God sized opportunity will be presented to you. The last thing you need is to find your self unprepared.”
